Meet Melissa Watson-Clark, LCSW-C Therapist. Healer. Guide. Melissa Watson-Clark didn’t start her career in a therapy room. She began in the world of accounting—where everything was supposed to add up. But even in a life of ledgers and balance sheets, she felt something was missing. That quiet inner pull toward helping others couldn’t be ignored. So, she followed it. After earning her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work, Melissa stepped fully into the work she was meant to do. Over the last two decades, she has supported individuals and families through life’s toughest moments—as a therapist, a parent educator, a supervisor, and a trainer for helping professionals across Maryland. Her clinical skills are grounded in deep expertise, but it’s her intuitive, heart-centered approach that clients remember most. Today, Melissa is the founder of Gardenwood Counseling Center, where she supports adults—especially women—who are navigating burnout, transition, or simply feeling lost in the demands of modern life. Her work blends traditional talk therapy with holistic healing practices. In addition to being a licensed clinical social worker, Melissa is an herbalist and Reiki practitioner, and she integrates energy-based tools such as EFT/tapping, mindfulness, guided visualization, and somatic awareness into her sessions. Her philosophy is simple but powerful: healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. That’s why she meets each client exactly where they are—with compassion, curiosity, and a belief in their ability to change. Whether you’re processing a recent loss, confronting the weight of chronic stress, or reevaluating your life’s direction, Melissa offers a space to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with your inner wisdom. In a world that often feels overstimulating, overburdened, and just too much—Melissa’s work is about coming back to yourself. With humor, insight, and a deep respect for the human spirit, she helps clients reconnect to their own power and purpose. If you’re ready to feel like yourself again—or maybe meet yourself for the first time--schedule a consultation. Together, we’ll uncover the path that leads you home. |
